Almost hate to say this, but...

I will attempt to pack up and go home tomorrow (hope I don't jinx the effort). Wish my son and I luck on FINALLY getting back home. Pray for the storms to stop and the season to end early! Pray for all the people who have no home to return. Pray for this great nation who came to the aid of its people in a tremendous time of overwhelming need. Let's pray this mess is over and we can truly begin the rebuilding process. Let any future storms loop back into the open waters and affect zero land and people.

We had an interesting couple of days at my sister's house due to Rita, especially last night. The winds were howling and the rain was strong and hard. I believe we got more up here than at my home in Jefferson Parish. A huge limb fell out back and pulled down a power line; however, it was not the line to any houses, thank heavens. There was some puddling in the yard, but no flooding. The biggest part of Rita that we experienced was wind and rain, which was enough. Right now as I look out the sliding glass doors of my sister's home, I see the most beautiful sight -- SUNSHINE!!!! WEEEE-HOOOO!
